Shoulder Pain
FROZEN SHOULDER – Frozen shoulder is a common man terminology for adhesive capsulitis. It occurs when the connective tissue enclosing the shoulder joint thickens and tightens. It involves stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint. Signs and symptoms typically begin slowly and worsens over time. Patients are usually diabetics and experience typical night pain. Gradually they will have difficulty in performing daily routine activities as they develop restriction of movements.
ROTATOR CUFF TENDINITIS – THIS AFFECTS THE MUSCLES AND TENDONS THAT KEEP THE SHOULDER JOINT MOBILE. This condition is often caused by or associated with repetitive overhead activities such as throwing, washing cars or windows and many other types of highly repetitive motions. It may also occur as a result of injury. Rotator cuff injury is the most common cause of shoulder pain and limitation of activities in all age groups. Ultrasound plays a major role in diagnosing and treating rotator cuff tear and tendinosis.
BURSITIS – Shoulder bursitis is the most common type of bursitis. It occurs when excess fluid builds up in a bursa, the cushioning pad between bones and tissue in joints. Many people with shoulder bursitis may have associated rotator cuff tendinitis. This condition causes pain in the shoulder which radiates to arm and can affect arm mobility
