Myofascial Pain Syndrome
Myofacial pain syndrome is a chronic condition that causes pain in the musculoskeletal system. This pain is confined to a particular area, muscle or group of muscles. for example, in trapezius myofacial syndrome, pain and tenderness might be felt in right side of neck and upper back.
The pain is typically associated with trigger points in these muscles. These trigger points radiate pain to the affected area when pressure is applied on them. Trigger points can be latent or active.
